Of Order in Chaos
©Dr Joel Akande 2009
Perplexed I have been, to untie the knots of life
Taken aback by the diversity
and the complexity of simply forms
I have, like any rational being, been thrown in their midst
Trying to make sense of the anarchy in.. Get More Poems or Continue Here
The Diamond is Polished

Gold is quarried from the innermost earth
As platinum come from the deepest pit
Diamond is mined from the dirtiest portion of the soils
Humans are born with grime hanging around him

On Human Suffering
©Dr Joel Akande 2009
The birds have their feathers
The sheep are clothed with furs
The snake have their scales

Man is left to his devices
Unclothed and in full glare

The human neck a support and passage
The chest a secure home for the great exchangers of lungs and Pump
The abdomen, to contain the liver, gut and pancreas:
the enormous and long processors of food and water
The terminal orifice of anus to allow... Get More Poems or Continue Here

©Dr Joel Akande 2009
In towns and cities, the massive gate a sign

From the street inward, the doors number to ten
Each made of mixed oak and iron
Secured front and back: By a set of crossing iron bars
That runs north to south, east to west
To deprive the soul incarcerated
In a space of miniscule size, in a stench so pungent
